Agape love and holy fear

The Church or the Christian folks need to have a right perspective of God to become a right kind of testimony to the outside world. Otherwise the repercussions may be disastrous. If Children of God or the Church cannot represent Christ in the right way, how are we to prove the character and the nature of God to the outside world?

Focusing on God's two attributes yesterday, we saw that our Lord is both good and holy. And approaching Him with a reverential attitude is the basis of our relationship with the Lord and our life's perspective. We need to show the lovingkindness of God to people, at the same time hold the reverential fear within the body of Christ and to the others alike. Only then the Church of the present day can be as effective as the Church during the time of Acts.

Acts 19: 17, 18, 20 (NLT)
17 The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. 18. Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices.
20. So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

When the unsaved people will experience the love (and acceptance) of Jesus from us, at the same time see our life here on earth lived with a holy fear (where our speech, attitude, behavior, deeds and choices made exhibit a reverence for God), then the unsaved will truly be drawn towards our living God. And we will truly stand as a right testimony for Christ.
