Fulfilling quiet times

Sometimes our prayer life can be so much a routine that we may be proceeding with our busy schedules and life without really doing much about it. Deep within our heart we may realize that something is missing. We know that we are not refreshed everyday as we used to be during our Bible reading times; we are not able to receive much but are only sharing our thoughts and heart to God. We may wonder what could be wrong or even at times ignore probing deeper into the heart's non-satisfaction.

But there is a reason, perhaps we are ignoring something which God is gently asking us to do. Maybe a discipline, a change of attitude or decision-making. There might be something which the Lord may be telling us which we might be overlooking. Only during such times will we encounter spiritual dryness or find our prayer life unfruitful.

In such times let us go back to God and tell Him,

" Speak, for your servant is hearing" (1 samuel 3:10)

Only when we ready to be receptive to the Lord, will we able to experience Him speak to us. And only when we are ready to do what He says, will our prayer times be fulfilling...

Psalms 51:12 (NIV)
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me
