Climbing heights

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (New International Version)

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,

18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

What a wonderful scripture for a wearied soul. Is it really possible as Habakkuk says to rejoice in a situation as bad as his?
Yes, it is. Since he was able to rejoice, he is able to say it with confidence. And his confidence lies in the fact that God is able to change his circumstance from nothing to something higher or bigger. He does not say that he will be just provided. He is not saying that he will have grapes, olives, grains, sheep and cattle which he currently lacks. But he is saying that God will make his feet like that of a deer which will help him go high places.

What an understanding he has of the God whom he trusts! May we also have the same confidence and faith that Habakkuk had no matter what our current situation. And claim as he did.

Affirmation:
No matter my circumstance now, I will rejoice in my Savior for He will make me climb the ladder of success for He will make it happen...
