Maturity in Growth

When we presume that we are growing in the Lord, then the result of that growing is maturity. Immaturity is not the aspect of growth. Real maturity is Christ-like which has a inner poise and serenity. Many people think that having a good knowledge about the Bible is considered as growing. It is true that a good knowledge of the Word of God is an essential aspect for a believer. But that is to help us apply it in our lives in an appropriate way. Mere knowledge is no were considered growth. Only when the knowledge derived from God's Word is applied in our lives (which is wisdom), then there is real growth i.e maturity.

Hebrews 5:13-14 (New International Version)
13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

So let us grow in all maturity which we derive from the Lord in various ways such as the Word of God, from the Spirit of God and through life experiences which the Lord uses to teach us. Let us be open to every teaching, correction and discipline the Lord brings so that we may grow and mature in Him.

1 Corinthians 2:6-7 (New International Version)

6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began

  1. Good One Rads...

God's word is still above all wisdom one could get from other sources of any time...

His word still contains and covers anything and everything interms of how we could inherit His wisdom and also reflect the same in us.
