Brotherly submission

Another kind of submission that the Word of God exhorts us to do is submitting to one another in brotherly love. Even among believers it is so difficult to find Christ-like love for one another. People come to you to get something done...but when that doesn't work for them, then people may act indifferent or weird. It is sad to say that this happens within the Church i.e. even among the Christian circles. Christ has called us to love one another with a brotherly love. This kind of love has to be genuine and pure. It has to be unconditional like that of God's love (called the Agape love in Greek). Since we receive the Agape love from God, we are to show the same kind of love to our brethren.

Romans 13:8 (New International Version)
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

When we submit to one another with brotherly love, the love and care will be genuine without any selfish motives. We will start loving people without expecting any benefits in return which will be exhibited through our actions and deeds.

Ephesians 5:21 (New International Version)
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Let us owe no man nothing but love (brotherly love). Let us love people and use things; rather than loving things and using people unlike the people of this world.

  1. Well things have taken prominence over people around us… only God can interfere and point out what is important to us.
