When faced with worries, problems or any cares which wearies us down, it is natural that we fall into gloom easily and even forget to take the matter to God though we know deep down in our hearts that He can help us. But the truth is, the Lord waits patiently for us to bring all our cares and concerns to Him. He cannot force Himself on us unless we wholeheartedly come to Him in faith. We have to move from self-dependence to Christ-dependence which is a problem with most of us.
That is why the Word of God encourage us to draw close to God,
James 4:8 (NIV)
Come near to God and he will come near to you.
We can come close to God in prayer by being alone with Him and share all that is in our heart like that to a friend. Then He will speak to us through His Word according to each one's need and situation. He will also intervene in our lives and do things beyond our ability and imagination. That is why He is God, the Almighty. Let us not forget who we are and Who He Is.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think...

Moving from Self Dependence to Christ Dependence... it is a long way to move to that state.
