His Wonderful Presence

I have heard many believers tell me that the Lord is always with them and they really dont need to have a seperate time of prayer with the Lord. They say that they keep talking to Him all the time, when they drive or when they walk or clean etc and that is really prayer.
I fully agree that our Lord is with us all the time and we can talk to Him any time. Yet I am completely convinced that we need to have a quiet time with the Lord where we give ourselves fully to Him. We go to God not only to ask for things in prayer, share our concerns, receive answers for our problems, thank Him for what He does but more importantly we go to Him to know Him more, love Him better and give ourselves unconditionally to Him. It is the time where we know Him more closely through His Word and His revelation of Himself in wonderful ways through the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts and minds. It is time when He speaks to us specifically in the areas concerned.
Like the way Jesus had a quiet time with the Father every day so should we as His children go to Him for Him. That time with God, be it one hour or even more or less is the time where His wonderful presence abides in us which we carry throughout that day. And since we cannot close that meeting with Him it overflows into that day as we talk to Him and worship Him when we drive, walk and clean.
Mark 1:35 (NIV)
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed
