Being crucified

However good we may seem to be, sometimes we find unpleasant and sinful nature in us such as anger, slang words, hatred, selfishness, vengeance, bitterness, greed etc cropping within us. This is because we have not died to our sinful nature completely. We need to crucify them on the Cross everyday so that they don't take control over us.

Apostle Paul faced a similar context in his life. He says,
Romans 7: 24-25 (NLT)
24. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25. Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

He realised that only that Lord can help him get rid of his sinful nature.

Galatians 5:24 (NIV)
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.

Yes, this is how we can live right before God, by crucifying our sinful nature on the Cross. We do this in prayer by repenting and surrendring to God. We need to ask God for His cleansing power to restore us to His nature.

And thus we should be able to say like Apostle Paul ...
Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me...
