Abiding in Christ

John 15:7 (New American Standard Bible)
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Many people misinterpret this scripture and conclude that if we are in Christ, we can ask for anything. But not many have really understood what it means to really abide in Christ. When we abide in Christ, our thought process will be aligned to His thought process, will and His Word. Our wishes will be to do His will and we will not want anything that God does not want us to have or do anything against His wish.

So when we abide in Christ, the Lord clearly convicts our mind and conscience regarding His will. When we think against His will, we will not have peace in that. And when we think according to His will, we will have perfect peace. Therefore when we abide in Christ, everything we ask will be as per the perfect will of God.
