When talking about others we may at times mistakenly say something bad about them, without realizing that we are saying things based on our assumptions and not on reality. This is what is called slander. Slandering is no little issue. It is simply saying wrong things about others.The Word of God says that the Lord will put him or her into silence who slanders (Ps 101:5). And no can live with the Lord if they slander.
Look what God's Word warn us in a powerful way...
Psalm 15:1,3 (New International Version)
(v.1) LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
(v.2) He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart.
(v.3) and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman
So let us be careful not to fall into the sin of slandering for the penalty is heavy. Let us always consider before we speak something about someone, so that we talk with a sense of realization and truth. Amen.
